Policies

What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you create your helpdesk account, submit a coaching request, place an order or participate in another site feature.

Like many websites, this website uses "cookies" and Javascript to enhance your experience and gather information about visitors and their visits to our website. Please refer to the "Do we use 'cookies'?" section below for information about cookies and how we use them.

How do we use your information?

When you create your helpdesk account, we will ask for your name, your valid e-mail address and other general information to facilitate effective coaching and mentoring. Use of the helpdesk system requires that you enter a valid email address. A unique login password will be emailed to you. You are encouraged to change the password after logging in. Passwords are not stored. Rather, the password's "signature" or "fingerprint" is stored. Because of this we are unable to retrieve forgotten passwords.

When making purchases on the site, we will ask for your name, address and credit card number on a secure connection. We do not store or keep credit card numbers on file.

We may use the information we collect from you in the following ways:

We may send you periodic e-mails about this website or about services or products from other WebMommies.com websites. If you would no longer like to receive informational or promotional e-mail from us, please refer to the "How can I opt-out of promotional emailings?" section below.

How do we protect visitor information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Your helpdesk profile is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

When you place an order, all sensitive/credit information you supply is transmitted via 128-Bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, processed, then discarded. We do not keep credit card numbers on file.

Do we use "cookies"?

Yes. Cookies are small files stored on your computer that allow this website to distinguish your browsing session from other simultaneous browsing sessions. When logging in to the helpdesk, cookies tie your browsing session to your account profile, keeping your information separate from everyone else. In other words, if 50 people are logged in to the helpdesk at the same time, cookies help this website know who is who. Without cookies, one-on-one coaching would not be possible. You may turn off cookie storage for general browsing, but it is required when accessing the helpdesk or downloading the eBook. We use cookies to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. We use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors. These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our business.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser (like Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) settings. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, you won't be able to log in to the helpdesk to receive coaching or download products.

Do we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?

No. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice, except as described below. The term "outside parties" does not include this website or any member of the WebMommies.com family of parenting websites. It also does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property, or safety.

However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

How can I opt-out of promotional emailings?

All promotional emails include a link that can be either clicked or copy-and-pasted into a browser window which will ask you to confirm your intention to opt-out. Once you confirm, your email address is removed from our promotional emailings database. Please note that due to email production schedules you may receive any emails already in production.
